Living with a gifted child calls for unique skills. From the unusual perspective to unexpected frustrations, unusually bright children offer up a range of parenting challenges. On January 21 we talk with Judy Fort Brenneman, editor and contributor for the book: High IQ Kids: Collected Insights, Information, and Personal Stories from the Experts’.
High IQ Kids is a collection of insights, tips for advocacy, inspiration and personal stories from experts on gifted children- including parents who have been there, done that. Issues such as testing, homeschooling, behavior and social skills are seen as they relate to highly intelligent kids.

Hello everyone,
We would like to collect your funny parenting stories. As we talked about on the 12/10/08 show, we would love stories about your kids but also stories that show the funny but “real” side of parenting and parents. Sharing this about ourselves makes others feel less alone. Please make sure your children wouldn’t be upset by you sharing the story, and then post it here so we can use it on the show.
Thank you!
Lisa and Amy

It’s easy to find recommendations for “logical consequences.” Most authorities recommend implementing logical consequences according to the “3 R’s”: Revealed in advance, Related and Reasonable. A fourth criteria many find useful is “helpful.”
Join us for our discussion of the Three R’s, what makes a “logical consequence” helpful and some new ways to look at an old disciplinary idea.
