About Amy Makice



Amy Makice, founder of Creative Family Resources, is a parent educator and licensed psychotherapist based in Bloomington, Indiana. Her training includes Relational-Cultural Therapy, Positive Discipline and play therapy.
Amy specializes in women’s issues and parenting challenges. She offers individual therapy and parent support in the Bloomington area; workshops for parents and caregivers; and internet and phone consultations. Her consultations, presentations, and workshops incorporate current research on children’s development as well as concrete techniques for bringing families together.
Amy has a professional history serving the mental health needs of individuals and families. She has been a licensed clinical social worker since 1997. In graduate school, her research on women in recovery and Relational-Cultural Therapy was awarded a grant by the Newcomb College Center for Research on Women as well as the Lettie Page Whitehead Foundation Scholarship.
Amy has two sons. Her volunteer work includes advocacy for individuals with severe mental illness, facilitating Parenting Linked in Understanding and Support groups, and serving on the board of her local community band.
