About Lisa

Having been raised between two blended families with a total of twelve siblings and parents split almost as far philosophically as they were geographically, Lisa resolved at an young age to create her own parenting style. Lisa has created her own playful, respectful philosophy based on her experience as well as training in programs such as: Positive Discipline, Life Coaching, Non-Violent Communication, and Collaborative Problem Solving for Children with Behavioral Challenges. The result is a balanced, respectful, and down-to-earth approach that draws a wide variety of parents, from those who are struggling with discipline issues or unique challenges, to those who simply wish to improve their relationships and effectiveness.Because Lisa has personal and professional experience with children who have various challenges, she knows that today’s parents are often overwhelmed with conflicting (and guilt-inspiring) advice. In addition to providing information and guidance, Lisa’s work focuses on supporting parents through such difficult choices.

Lisa’s writing has been published internationally, including features in Gifted magazine and North Star Family Matters. She is a member of the Parent Education Network of Larimer County, the Foundation for Children with Behavioral Challenges, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Her volunteer work has included creating and leading various women’s groups, supervising visits between families separated through the court, and participating in her son’s school. Lisa’s website offers original writing, links, and resources, and Lisa manages and contributes to various free support groups for parents online.

Lisa Stroyan makes a difference in families’ lives by empowering parents to create positive, respectful, and empathic relationships with their children, based on each family’s individual values. She coaches parents over the phone, leads classes and workshops, and speaks to groups across the country. Lisa lives in Fort Collins, CO, with her husband and 10 year old son. Good insights!

How do your faith-based beliefs relate to your foundation of good child-rearing practices? Just curious! You obviously consider yourself a steward of all that is within a child. Very helpful information!

    Keep it up!
